The BCHA Board of Directors is a group of individuals who:
  • Have a keen interest in developing the hotel industry in their region
  • Believe that a difference can be made through the united voice of the BCHA
  • Want to intensify their involvement by being part of a team that aggressively promotes the viability and professionalism of the hotel industry.
The Board of Directors actively participate in setting goals for the BCHA such as the planning of finances, and marketing and governmental affairs initiatives that improve the hotel industry in BC.

The role and responsibility of a BCHA Director is four fold:
  1. Directors must be a member in good standing with the BCHA and must be a hotel owner or general manager, available to serve a 2-year term.
  2. Directors act as a professional representative of their region, the BCHA, and the hotel industry.
  3. Directors are required to hold region meetings at least twice a year and contact each hotelier in their region at least twice a year; either in person or by telephone. If the member contact requirement is not fulfilled, the Director will be asked to step down.
  4. Directors are required to attend quarterly Board meetings. According to BCHA Bylaw 11.05, Directors who are absent from two (2) consecutive meetings will be replaced by an alternate elected member of the region for the balance of the term.

The Board of Directors meet for one day, 4-times a year - January, April, July, and during the annual convention in November.
